What is healthcare information standardization?

Establish and disseminate national healthcare information standards through the continuous collection of opinions and management considering the medical environment.

Project overview

Development and management of medical information standards

(Standards for terminology) Develop standards for healthcare terminology by collecting and organizing terminology used in the health care sector.

(Health information exchange standards) Manage information exchange standards necessary for exchanges among medical institutions by establishing systems for national healthcare information exchanges

Spread and dissemination of healthcare information standards

- Notice by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the standards for health care terminology and standards for health information exchanges through the revised act (Article 22(1) of the Medical Service Act and Article 14(2) of the Enforcement Decree of the Medical Service Act)

Operation of a healthcare information standard management system

- Hold meetings regularly or as needed to discuss the area-specific agenda for standardization by running the 「Health Information Standardization Professional Committee」.

- Run the health information standard management system website (www.hins.or.kr)* to disseminate announced healthcare terminology standards and to make it well known to the public.
